As part of Attalaki’s legal capacity-building programme, Maître Mariem Klouz contributed to the training on equality, non-discrimination and the practical protection of fundamental rights within the Tunisian legal framework.

Her sessions addressed key conceptual and legal questions related to equality and non-discrimination, international standards and their articulation with domestic law, as well as obstacles to access to justice and the role of the judge in interpreting fundamental rights. She also contributed to the preparation and supervision of the Mock Trial, helping participants translate the concepts discussed during the training into practical legal reasoning and argumentation.

Throughout the simulation, Maître Klouz worked with participants on the analysis of legal strategies, arguments and procedural approaches. She also contributed to the final discussions on the roles of judges, lawyers, independent institutions and other actors in the protection of fundamental rights.

In this interview, Maître Mariem discusses the main themes addressed during the training, the importance of combining theoretical knowledge with practical exercises, and the lessons that can be drawn from the Mock Trial experience.
