The Attalaki Organization, represented by its President and Executive Director, participated in the proceedings of the International Conference on “Human Convergence and Sustainable Development for All.” This event was organized by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and the Network of Religious and Traditional Peacemakers, as part of the celebration of the International Day for Tolerance. The conference, along with the projects “Human Convergence” and “The Message of Peace,” aimed to promote mutual acceptance and peaceful coexistence among diverse communities and groups. The event took place from November 16 to 18, 2022.
In this context, representatives of our organization joined over 100 religious and traditional actors, policymakers, academics, and grassroots actors from 34 countries in Muscat for the 14th meeting of the Advisory Group of the Network of Religious and Traditional Peacemakers, hosted by the Omani Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs.
The Executive Director of the Attalaki was a keynote speaker in a panel discussion on “Promoting Inclusive Peace Processes in Africa and the World,” alongside speakers from Zimbabwe, Cameroon, Lesotho, and Lebanon. This event provided an opportunity for exchanging views and ideas between the speakers and the audience, during which Mr. Daadaa shared the Attalaki Organization’s experience in building and making peace among religious groups in Tunisia.
On this occasion, the President of our organization met with the Tunisian Ambassador to Oman, Mr. Azeddine Tayes, who expressed his pleasure at our representation of Tunisia in such significant international events.
The renewed celebration of the International Day of Tolerance, which falls on November 16, is gaining importance, depth and breadth, as representatives from (50) countries, with a number exceeding (120) personalities, are participating in the conference, with the aim of benefiting from the experiences of the participants, enhancing knowledge and acquaintance, and building future partnerships.
