Rashed Massoud, is a dedicated human rights activist with over 12 years of experience in the fields of religious freedom and interfaith dialogue. After studying theology, he committed himself fully to the defense of religious freedom and the support of religious minorities in Tunisia. In 2016, he founded the Attalaki NGO to further these efforts.
Massoud organized the pioneering event “Religious Freedoms and Forgotten Human Rights” at St. George’s Anglican Church in Tunisia and initiated the first direct dialogue between Tunisians of different religious backgrounds within the Attalaki NGO. He also established the Committee on Religious Freedom in Tunisia.
In addition to his work on religious freedom, Massoud is a prominent advocate for gender equality. He coordinated the HeForShe campaign in Tunisia from 2016 to 2018 and was selected in 2021 as a core team leader to promote the WeRise application in Tunisia, a UN Women initiative aimed at spreading the culture of gender equality in the Arab region. He previously served as a research advisor at the Adyan Foundation in Lebanon.
