On September 20th, 2024, Attalaki had the pleasure of hosting a diverse group of young German students and experts alongside their Tunisian and Algerian counterparts for a visit to St. George Anglican Church in Tunis. This event was part of the St. Augustine Trilateral Dialogue, a collaborative program offered by the University of Tübingen in partnership with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
Under the insightful guidance of Reverend Frank Bernardi, attendees gained a profound understanding of the Anglican perspective on religious liberties and the everyday life of the diverse Anglican community in Tunis, including its social services and outreach programs.
The visit provided a unique opportunity for participants to engage in meaningful discussions about Tunisia’s rich religious and cultural landscape, emphasizing the importance of fostering a culture of inclusivity and respect in today’s societies. Participants also explored the historical significance of the Churchyard, which features memorials honoring British, American, and Indian soldiers from the Second World War. This memorial serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made during the war and stands as a testament to the enduring ties between nations and cultures.
This visit was not only an educational experience but also a catalyst for fostering dialogue and understanding among future leaders from diverse cultural backgrounds. By bridging perspectives on faith and community, we collectively contribute to a more harmonious and interconnected world. Attalaki remains committed to facilitating such enriching exchanges that promote mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation within our diverse societies.
